Default Paragon using Ranger Skills

I had had my Paragon hero set up as a ranger for one mission, and forgot to change him back.

Later on I changed his weapon back to a Spear, but again forgot to reset his skill bar.

When he started fighting, I noticed that he was firstly using Apply Poison, which is perfectly acceptable, but then he used Incendiary Arrows and Choking Gas!

As far as I could tell, Incendiary Arrows did nothing, but it looked like Choking Gas may have been working as the monsters had the green gas haze around them, but I am not 100% sure.

What surprises me is that if these skills do not work with a Spear, then why did the AI activate them? Or.. the alternative is that they actually DO work with a Spear, which would be very very broken.

hmm...I doubt Choking gas would work with a spear, but it might make an interesting build if it did.
